The use of a resistor is often necessary even when using CANBUS bulbs in cars where the CAN system is particularly sensitive - e.g. Audi A4 B7. It is also necessary to use them in VAG group cars after 2009, Octavia 2 FL (> 2009), Leon 2 (> 2010), Golf6 etc.

The resistor can be used to cheat bimetallic flashers for turn signals in older car models, eliminating the effect of rapid flashing of the direction indicators after changing to LED bulbs, as well as eliminating the burning of the third brake light after using LED stop lamps / position

After using the resistor, you can use cheaper LED bulbs - errors will not appear anymore.

Resistor for bulbs with a power of up to 21W (it is the power of a traditional bulb) when replacing bulbs with a power of 50W and more, use a 50W 6 Ohm resistor.

Installation outside the lamp, we do not cut the cables, but just connect one end of the resistor to the plus and the other to the minus (we are talking about the cables powering the LED bulb), as if we wanted to make a short circuit with this resistor. The resistor should be attached to a metal element so that it does not break off while driving and has better cooling.
